WEEKEND ESCAPADE TO COORG.....BREAK THE MONOTONY!!!!!
As the mercury took an upward swing across NAMMA BENGALURU,the only plausible solution to beat the fierce heat was to hit the road and travel to cooler destinations...Left to choose between Thekkady-Munnar and Coorg,we decided to visit the latter(given its proximity to Bengaluru!!!).
DAY 1: With the cries of " HIP HIP HURRAY " we left the pick up point-BANGALORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY at 10:00 pm.After brief stops at few more pick up points we rolled out on the inviting SH-17 that connects the state capital-BENGALURU with the cultural capital-MYSORE..
No sooner did the A/V system become alive with peppy music than the bus turned into a dance floor....

Most of us took to the task of scouting the surroundings while the rest took a short nap..After a mediocre breakfast which comprised of MASALA DOSA and lemon rice we headed towards DUBARE...
DUBARE ELEPHANT CAMP conducts various activities involving ELEPHANTS and River Water Rafting...We all put on our life jackets and rowed down more than a kilometer of the river on inflatable dinghies with the vibrant forest running alongside..We not only used the oars for steering forward but also beat it hard against the water until the people in the other dinghies got completely drenched : D: D: D!!!!!Not to forget, the guides at the camp were a wonderful lot...
Thanks to the life jackets, some who were mortally scared of water still got into it........
The stint at the camp was truly a rewarding experience!!!!!! :) :) :)
Note:If you are prone to motion sickness,do carry pills that prevent it!!!!.
After a quick group photo session,we retraced the route to KUSHEL NAGAR and tucked into the last meal in a hotel....We then reached the resort just in time to watch the second half of a nail-biting IPL match. :P :P

"AND I THOUGHT MUSIC IS THE ONLY SANITY IN THIS INSANE WORLD"
Just before the clock struck 12 there was an outburst from the heavens.Chased by a thundering storm we zipped along the highway. The enchanting mix of music, flashes of lightning, cold gust of wind and the fierce downpour was spectacular,it seemed like the gods had decided to put up an enthralling show to welcome us and it was much more than we had had bargained for :) :) :) !!!!!
DAY 2: WE reached COORG @ 4 in the morning and checked into our comfy rooms at RAJ GARDENIA RESORT.The Resort is a lovely site with a common dining room,a demarcated bonfire spot, swimming pool, play area for children, scenic garden and plenty of charm -all in all a wonderful location for a cool retreat...

After the refreshing swim in the sun-kissed River Cauvery we bumped our way back to the resort...
The sun shone with all its brilliance when we stepped on the gas once again...After a hour long leisure ride we reached MADIKERI,comfortably enough in time for lunch..The spot where we had stopped was an interesting one, with an array of modest restaurants, cafes, department stores on one side and an old fort, library, museum on the other......!!!!!!!!
After the sumptuous lunch we trotted off to the pristine TALACAUVERY !!!The going gets slow as the road is narrow with sharp turns, hairpin bends and some rough patches..The view of the valleys that run alongside is splendid. :) :) :)
Note:If you are prone to motion sickness,do carry pills that prevent it!!!!.
As we landed in TALACAUVERY, some of the boys took out their sunglasses and struck impressive poses :P :P....
Marble steps lead to a small tank which is the source of the "ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಿನ ಜೀವ ನದಿ"-ಕಾವೇರಿ
A trek of around 200 steps took us to the top..A spectacular sight unfolded before us as the distant windmills, hills stood like titans while the evening sunlight cast a soft glow on the surrounding.....
We hit the pause button and savored the flavors nature had to offer us..Watching this amazing view as the cool breeze ruffles through your hair is a lovely experience...Indeed,it was an inspiring stop!!! :) :) :
